Notice is hereby given that Haas Sons, Inc. has filed an application for a Conditional Use Permit and a Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Permit to meet the requirements of the Chippewa County Zoning and Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Ordinances, NMN Permit #2024-01.

Location: SE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 24, T28N-R10W

The applicant proposes to: extract, crush, and wash sand and gravel, and to establish the post-mining land use as wildlife pond and upland grassland habitat. The proposed mine site will expand to cover approximately 20.7 acres and will be sequentially mined and reclaimed in progressive stages.

A combined hearing on the conditional use permit application and reclamation plan will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Room 302 at the Chippewa County Courthouse. The hearing, pursuant to Chippewa County Zoning Ordinance Ch. 70-108 and NR 135.20(2), will commence at 4:30 p.m.

The hearing will be conducted for the purpose of explaining and receiving comments from affected persons on the proposed mining and reclamation.
Copies of both the Conditional Use Permit application and the Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Permit application & reclamation plan are available for review upon request. Paper copies are available upon request at duplication cost.
