Welcome to Chippewa County!

Chippewa County is unique with its dedicated, inspired workforce providing courteous, efficient and effective services.  These services include but are not limited to public safety, public health, assistance to the elderly/children/persons with disabilities, Veterans assistance, economic development, highway, parks, Land Conservation and Forest Management and zoning.

In 2012 the County Board of Supervisors transitioned from a 29 member board to a 15 member County Board. Since that time, Chippewa County has implemented many other efficiencies including restructuring our committees to meet the demands of a smaller board.  The County Board has embraced technology by implementing an electronic agenda management software program, live streaming our County Board meetings, and transitioning to iPads, which has created efficiencies and allows the Supervisors to communicate more effectively with our citizens.  In April 2022 the County Board transitioned again from a 15 member board to a 21 member board.

Chippewa County has a deep, strong agricultural history of producing food and fiber which continues to be an important asset of our county. Chippewa County Government in close cooperation with our City, Village, and Town governments has created a fertile economic climate to facilitate expansion of existing businesses, incubate start-up businesses and assist new businesses wanting to locate in Chippewa County.  An example of that success can be seen with the County working in concert with the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) in the marketing of our 200 acre Wisconsin certified “Shovel Ready” Lake Wissota Business Park.

Chippewa County welcomes Business, Industry and You! It’s a great place to live, have fun, raise a family, and locate a business.

If you have questions or need assistance please contact myself or my confidential assistant Traci Bremness at (715) 726-4597.

Respectfully,

Chuck Hull
