Highway Summer Maintenance

Highway maintenance staff are divided between both the State and County Highways and are typically assigned to a specific section of road.  As soon as the snow leaves and the weather begins to turn nice, Chippewa County Highway staff get busy with construction projects.  In addition to heavy construction, there is always maintenance that is needed.  When not helping construction crews, our maintenance crews do tasks such as pavement markings, invasive species control, brush control, mowing, crack filling, pot hole repairs, shoulder work, bridge washing, sweeping, guard rail repair and much more.
