Recovery Court
The Chippewa County Recovery Court Program is a court that is specifically designated and staffed to handle cases involving drug offenders through an intensive, judicially monitored program of alcohol and drug treatment, rehabilitation services, and strict community supervision.
Goals of the Chippewa County Recovery Court Program
1. Help the Recovery Court participant break the cycle of dependence.
2. Reduce drug and alcohol related crimes, as well as other unrelated crimes, to increase community safety.
3. Ensure the Recovery Court participant begins the Recovery Court program as soon as possible.
4. Offer effective sanctions, rewards, and treatment programming.
5. Increase employment stability and encourage participants to obtain an HSED/GED.
6. Ensure the Recovery Court participant contributes to all Court related costs.
The Chippewa County Recovery Court Program consists of three phases followed by a Continuing Care Phase. Each phase is a minimum of 3 months long and the continuing care phase is a minimum of 6 months long. The Recovery Court Team, upon recommendation of the Recovery Court Case Manager, determines when promotion to a higher phase is appropriate. The Drug Court Case Manager completes a comprehensive Psycho social assessment on each participant. After the assessment is completed, the Recovery Court Team determines the level and location of each participant’s treatment.
