Agricultural Weather & Climate Conditions
Chippewa County Land Conservation and Forest Management has deployed three (3) remote weather stations into agricultural cropland and rural settings (2021 - 2022).
Objectives in collecting and disseminating weather data include:
- Assist with agricultural decision making, especially awareness of soil and weather conditions that are risky for contributing sediment and nutrients to surface water and / or nutrients to groundwater (precipitation, soil temperature, soil moisture, evapotranspiration, etc.).
- Increase understanding of climate change and impact upon local food production and land use management.
The target audience includes farmers, crop consultants, HS science teachers, and environmental professionals.
Once every hour, current condition weather values are uploaded and posted onto these sites.
Weather values are logged every 60 minutes into an ongoing archive. Refresh your browser for hourly updates.
