Mission Statement/Department Purpose:
The Veterans Service Office exists to provide assistance to the men and women of Chippewa County who served in the U. S. Armed forces and their dependents. We provide services and information on federal, state and local benefits. We work directly with thousands of veterans annually. In rating services we would list helping veterans file for compensation and pensions as our number one priority.


Statutory Authority

WI 45.80 County Administrator shall appoint and supervise a county veteran’s service officer.
WI 45.81(1) there is created in each county a county veterans service commission consisting of at least 3 residences of the county who are veterans appointed for staggered 3 year terms by the county executive or county board chairperson in a county that does not have a county executive
