Public Notice - Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Plan

    Management under the Chippewa County Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Ordinance.

OFFICIAL PUBLIC NOTICE
Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Plan

Notice is hereby given that Haas Sons, Inc. has filed an application for a Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Permit with the Chippewa County Department of Land Conservation & Forest Management under the Chippewa County Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation Ordinance.

Location:         SW ¼ of Section 35, T29N-R07W
Owned by:       Shey Peterson

The applicant proposes to: extract, crush, and wash sand and gravel, and to establish the post-mining land use as a wildlife pond and upland grassland wildlife habitat. The proposed mine 
site covers approximately 40.8 acres and will be sequentially mined and reclaimed in progressive stages.

Any person residing within, owning property within, or whose principal place of business is within 300 feet of the boundary of the parcel or parcels of land in which the nonmetallic mining site is located or proposed may request a public informational hearing. Requests for the public informational hearing must be made within 30 days of the publication of this notice.

Copies of the application and reclamation plan are available for review at the Chippewa County Department of Land Conservation & Forest Management, 711 N. Bridge Street, Room 011, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 during regular business hours. The plan can also be viewed and downloaded at no cost from the Department’s website at: http://www.chippewacountywi.gov/lcfm Paper and digital copies are available upon request at duplication cost.

Attached to this notice is a map depicting the location of the proposed nonmetallic mine site.

Members of the public may contact the Department of Land Conservation & Forest Management at (715) 720-3644 with questions regarding the application and reclamation plan or may make an appointment to review documents for the proposed mine.
