Medicare and You (Class)

  • Date: 12/09/2025 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Location: Varies throughout Chippewa County-See Registration Link
  • Introduction: Educational crash-course to better understand your Medicare insurance coverage options.
Registration: Online here or call the ADRC 715-726-7777. Space is limited.

We are trying to reach everyone that wants a better understanding of Medicare coverage. We understand some people or family caregivers are still actively working, or maybe have transportation barriers. There are some dates that go into the community outside of Chippewa Falls, but primarily these classes are held at the Chippewa County courthouse. We offer these classes twice a month, which includes evening, day, and virtual availability in attempt to have a class that is more convenient for you.

Are you new to Medicare, or just want to know more about those Medicare commercials you keep seeing? Wondering where you can go for objective & unbiased Medicare information?

We will discuss enrolling in Medicare, the parts of Medicare, the difference between Medicare Advantage Plans and Medicare Supplements and drug coverage options. The presentation is open to anyone new to Medicare, currently on Medicare, caregivers, families and community partners. There is no cost to attend.

After you attend this class, you will have the opportunity for a scheduled 1:1 meeting with our Benefit Specialist to ask further questions about your specific situation. There are over 16,000 people on Medicare in Chippewa County, and we only have 1 Elder Benefit Specialist who serves adults aged 60 or better, and 1 Disability Benefit Specialist who served adults ages 18-59. Having this group class helps serve more people than we could help individually, but we realize everyone's situation is unique and may still have questions after attending the class.
