Arrested: Cody J Walker 32 year male from Chippewa Falls, WI.

On March 22, the Chippewa County Sheriffs Dept. rec'd a call from the Batemen Express Mart 19756 CTH X, in the Town of Lafayette of a retail theft from their store.
 
Officers responded and the information provided listed Cody Walker as the suspect involved in the retail theft. Walker was not at the store when Law Enforcement arrived. Information obtained after Walker was identified as the suspect was that he had a number of active arrest warrants, along with a Department of Corrections Apprehension order.
 
Officers then went to a residence of a friend of Cody Walker on CTH O east of CTH K in the Town of Anson where Walker was confronted outside the residence.  Walker refused to cooperate with Law Enforcement and fled into a house and refused to exit.  
 
Communication was unsuccessful in a attempt to have Walker exit the residence. Officers called for the assistance of the Sheriff's Departments K-9.  Entry was made into the residence, with the K-9 apprehending suspect Walker.
 
Walker will face additional charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance (meth) and retail theft.
 
This incident is among many calls for service this year that our K-9, Max has been utilized for a successful resolution. He has become a very valuable asset.
